Led by Dr. Milton McNichol, our staff includes skilled embryologists, registered nurses, and specialists in surrogacy and donor coordination. Meet Dr. Milton McNichol, MD

Dr. Milton McNichol is a highly experienced, board-certified reproductive endocrinologist with over 20 years of expertise in fertility care. He obtained his medical degree from Loma Linda University and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. McNichol further specialized in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility during his fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
As the medical director at Fertility Center of Orlando, Dr. McNichol leads a compassionate, patient-focused team dedicated to providing the most advanced fertility treatments. His commitment to personalized care ensures each patient receives the best possible chance to achieve their reproductive goals.

Meet Carlos E. Lucena, RN, BSN

Carlos E. Lucena is a dedicated member of our team at Fertility Center of Orlando. He began his training in Women’s reproductive healthcare and infertility in Venezuela, earning his degrees in Medicine and Surgery in 2000.

He specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology and completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in Spain. In 2018, Carlos moved to the U.S. and earned his RN and BSN.

Carlos is certified as a First Surgical Assistant and trained in laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and Da Vinci robotic surgery. He is also preparing for certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP).

Fluent in English and Spanish, Carlos is committed to providing exceptional care and is a valued member of our team.

Meet Dr. Sunny Lu, PhD

Dr. Sunny Lu, PhD, is an experienced Embryologist at the Fertility Center of Orlando, specializing in advanced fertility treatments. With a strong background in embryology, he works closely with patients and the medical team to ensure the highest standards of care. Dr. Lu is dedicated to providing cutting-edge techniques and personalized approaches to maximize success rates. His role in the laboratory is essential for the development and growth of embryos, contributing directly to patient outcomes. Dr. Lu’s expertise and commitment make him a key part of the center’s success. He is passionate about helping families achieve their dreams of parenthood.

Meet Dr. Charlie Lu, Ph.D.

Dr. Charlie Lu, Ph.D., has been a senior embryologist and andrologist since 1996, specializing in embryology and andrology laboratory operations. He performs procedures like egg retrievals, embryo transfers, ICSI, semen processing, and embryo culture. Dr. Lu is certified as a Specialist in Andrology and Embryology by the American Board of Bioanalysis. He is skilled in advanced techniques such as PGT-A/PGD biopsies and assisted hatching. Dr. Lu has published research in numerous scientific journals from his clinical research work. He is dedicated to helping patients achieve their reproductive goals through advanced techniques and compassionate care.

Meet Wendy, Senior Embryologist

Wendy is a highly experienced Senior Embryologist with 9 years in assisted reproductive technologies (ART). She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Florida Atlantic University and is skilled in embryo culture, cryopreservation, ICSI, and PGT. Wendy’s expertise has led to consistently high success rates in ART procedures. Known for her compassionate approach, she provides personalized care to patients throughout their fertility journey. She also mentors junior embryologists, encouraging continuous learning in the lab. Wendy currently works at The Fertility Center of Orlando, advancing reproductive science with dedication.

Meet Ashley Martinez, RN

Ashley is a Registered Nurse with over 14 years of experience in gestational surrogacy. As a five-time gestational surrogate, she brings both personal and professional expertise to her work. Inspired by the exceptional care at the Fertility Center of Orlando, Ashley transitioned from a paralegal career to nursing and became an IVF Nurse Coordinator. She founded Journey RN to provide a compassionate and guided surrogacy experience. Ashley advocates for ethical surrogacy practices and patient education. Her unique blend of experience makes her a trusted expert in assisted reproduction.

Meet Christine Certain, Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Christine Certain is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified in Perinatal Mental Health. She has shared in the journey of infertility, loss and becoming a mom and understands the importance of support, compassion and great care. Christine graduated from Florida State University where she was awarded both a Master’s Degree and an Educational Specialist Degree in Counseling. Christine has been working with moms for over 15 years and is passionate about making this a time of your life you look back on with love.
